SANDY SPRING BUILDERS ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC ALLIANCE WITH HAVEN CUSTOM HOMES, GTM ARCHITECTS
BETHESDA, MD – Bethesda, Md.-based Sandy Spring Builders, Haven Custom Homes and GTM Architects have announced a strategic alliance that will allow the companies to create high-end custom modular homes in the Washington, D.C., metro area. The three companies, each known as a leader in its respective field, are creating homes that reflect a commitment to architectural integrity, quality design and sustainability.
"Sandy Spring Builders is one of the premier custom home builders in the Washington, D.C., metro area and we are pleased to partner its reputation with that of George Myers at GTM Architects to create one-of-a-kind homes in prominent, close-in suburban neighborhoods," said John Ragland, executive vice president of acquisitions and marketing for Haven Custom Homes, a leader in the construction of custom modular homes for more than 35 years. "The homes we create together will be of the highest architectural standards and reflect our commitment to producing energy efficient, healthy homes that help reduce energy consumption and protect the environment."
The strategic alliance among Sandy Spring Builders, Haven Custom Homes and GTM Architects will market the homes under the brand of Sandy Spring Classic Homes. There are many advantages of employing modular construction in a protected, climate-controlled indoor facility that relate to quality design control, building efficiency and green building. The speed of modular construction also is a defining advantage in close-in suburban neighborhoods where families are often displaced while their homesites are being redeveloped and where neighbors are sensitive to disruptions to the community.
"The collaboration among our companies will result in distinctive custom homes that are built approximately two to two-and-a-half times faster than traditional homes with the same, if not better, architectural designs our customers are accustomed to," said Phil Leibovitz, partner at Sandy Spring Builders. "With GTM Architects’ designs and Haven’s state-of-the-art construction methods, we are able to create infill homes in half the time it typically takes other builders. The value this brings to homeowners in this area is priceless."
Prior to announcing their alliance, the companies collaborated on new custom homes on two infill suburban locations in the Washington, D.C., metro area. Currently, the companies are creating another two homes in North Bethesda, Md., and Chevy Chase, Md. The homes will be priced at more than $1.5 million and showcase GTM Architects’ and Sandy Spring Builders’ superior attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship. Haven Custom Homes is constructing the home in its state-of-the-art controlled facility located in Pennsylvania.
"For more than two years we have worked with Haven Custom Homes and Sandy Spring Builders to thoughtfully design these homes with the utmost attention to detail, architectural style and interior finishes," said George Myers, president of GTM Architects. "We are proud of the design work and look forward to more of the same creations."

Sandy Spring Builders’ customer testimonials: "It was clear from the first time we saw the house that the quality of the construction was top-notch. The exterior and interior architectural details evoke an earlier era, the deep window frames are something you rarely see in a new home, the extra insulation between walls and floors has made the house very quiet, and the finishing touches all give the home a solid, classic feel. We have also become enthusiastic promoters of the modular approach. It’s clear the home was built incredibly sturdy for the trip from the construction site to the home site." |
